세계 최고의 혁신 중소기업을 가리는 「2024 글로벌 어워드」 신청 접수

- 지식재산권 사업화 성과 등을 바탕으로 7개 기업 선정해 후원 및 상담(멘토링) 지원 -

 

세계지식재산기구(WIPO*)는 3. 31.(일)까지 전 세계 중소기업‧새싹기업(스타트업)을 대상으로 「2024 글로벌 어워드」참가기업 모집에 들어갔다.

* WIPO(World Intellectual Property Organization): UN 산하 지식재산분야 국제기구

 

세계지식재산기구(WIPO)는 중소기업의 지식재산 사업화를 촉진하고 발명 의욕을 고취하기 위해 2022년부터 매년 5~7개 혁신 중소기업을 선정하여 시상하고 있다.

	<글로벌 어워드 수상 기업 현황>
▪ (’22년) 62개국 272개 기업 중 중국 2개, 싱가포르 1개, 일본 1개, 네덜란드 1개 등 5개 기업 수상 ▪ (’23년) 58개국 548개 기업 중 중국 2개, 싱가포르 1개, 프랑스 1개 등 7개 기업 수상 * 한국은 그간 2개(’22년 샤픈고트, 노리앤드, ’23년 샤픈고트, 스타스테크) 기업이 최종 후보기업에 포함

 

전 세계 신청 기업 중 서류심사를 거쳐 지식재산권 사업화 성과, 경제‧사회‧문화적 파급효과와 기여도 등을 기준으로 25여개 후보기업이 선정된 후 5월경 최종 7개 기업이 선정된다. 수상 기업에는 7월 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 총회 시 개최되는 글로벌 어워드 시상식 참가, 자금조달과 동반관계(파트너십) 기회를 넓히는 후원 프로그램, 지식재산 사업화를 위한 맞춤형 상담(멘토링) 등이 제공된다.

 

참가 대상은 직원 300명 이하, 연 매출 1,500만 달러(약 200억원) 이하 중소기업이다. 기타 자세한 사항은 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 누리집(www.wipo.int)에서 확인가능하며 참가 희망 기업은 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 글로벌 어워드 누리집(global-awards.wipo.int)을 통해 신청‧접수할 수 있다.

 

특허청 정인식 산업재산보호협력국장은 “특허청은 그간 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 국제회의, 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 사무총장 방한 등의 계기에 세계지식재산기구(WIPO) 사무국은 물론 193개 회원국들에게 우리나라의 지식재산을 활용한 경제성장 노하우를 적극 소개해왔다”며 “특허청은 적극행정의 일환으로 동 대회에 우리 기업들이 많이 참여하여 최종 선정될 수 있도록 홍보하고 지원할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

□ 포상 개요

◦ (심사기준) 지식재산권 상용화(보호, 관리, 활용, 제품화 등) 성과, 경제·사회·문화적 파급효과 및 기여도 등을 종합적으로 평가

 

* 후보기업의 지리적 대표성, 출신국가의 개발수준, 성별 등 다양성을 고려하여 심사

 

◦ (선발절차) 참가신청(~3.31) → 사무국 최종리스트 선정(25개社, 5월2째주) → 심사위원단 심사(〜5.31) → 시상식(7월2째주)

- WIPO 총회 시 개최되는 WIPO 글로벌 어워드 시상식* 참석

 

* IP 비즈니스‧혁신 분야에서 전문성을 갖춘 심사위원, 후원자, 멘토, 전문가 등 초빙
